Downloading from youtube can be such a tricky task. However some applications have been built purposely for this task. A good example of this is the tubemate application.
Tubemate can be downloaded from tubemate.net
As shown above the application will display a youtube page
Search and click on a preferred video on the youtube page
Click on the green download icon on the top of the tubemate application
Select a preferred quality option and click on it to download
Draw down your notification and you can monitor the download progress.
